“ A converted medieval church, run by a Christian Mission. Enjoy a bite to eat under Norman pillars and Arches while gazing through Stained glass windows. They serve a good cup tea and produce tasty, filling meals at a very competitive price. There is an upstairs seating area with an area put aside for quiet reflection or prayer. The Church also has a small kiosk selling fair trade products from across the world. There is a small play area for children aged 1 to 4. Parents are asked to supervise their children while they use this facility. There is no wifi, and it can be busy at weekends. Disabled customers are able to access the ground level seating area. There is a disabled toilet as well. ”

“ We held a cake sale here. Lovely volunteer staff and a great place to stop for a coffee tea and / or a peice of cake. Great atmosphere in a former church, really has the feel of old York at reasonable prices. No fancy Lattes etc but a real sense of community in a busy tourist City. ”

“ Peaceful, cosy cafe in a beautiful old church with comfy seating. Mostly cakes and hot drinks, which are Pay What You Feel... so you get the added pleasure of over-paying if you feel moved to :-) The home made cakes are wonderful and the staff are very friendly and helpful, without intruding if you want to just sit and read for a while! Open Tuesday and Wednesday currently. It would be great for kids as it's spacious and welcoming, no one would mind them running around. Highly recommend! ”

“ Great place to go for some great food, 20 for 4 sausage and egg sandwiches, tea for 2 and 2 large Oasis'. The food was delicious and plenty of room for larger parties with fast serving times and helpful staff. Good for a homely break after a walk around york when the kids are hungry or tired out. Can get noisy due to children but an upstairs cafe area with comfy seats cordened off from the noise with a prayer area if needed. ”

“ This is a wonderful resource in the city centre with kind and friendly staff, and soft play area for 0-4 year olds and pay as you feel pricing in the cafe. It is only open for a few hours in the middle of the day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays which is a shame. Definitely worth visiting if you have small children and a limited budget ”

“ This is an amazing space! I have visited in the past to have a drink but as I passed today I saw a banner on the wall advertising a Degree show. It was free to enter and the space had been well used to display the student work. I hope that more organisations thinks out using the space for their events. ”
